About Odalie
A companion built from family stories.
Odalie is an AI voice companion for older adults. She sits on a simple tablet, talks about whatever the day brings, and draws on the photos and stories a family adds — so the conversation is never quite like anyone else's.
How conversation, photos and stories fit together
Conversation
Odalie talks about the day, the news, music and games — and, when it feels welcome, raises a family story gently. Never a quiz, never a score.
Family photos
A relative adds a photo from their phone with a few sentences: who was there, where it was, what they remember. That's all it takes.
Stories
Those small additions become the material Odalie draws on — your parent's own life, back in everyday conversation, in her own words.
The family does the adding; Odalie does the remembering. Personal details come only from what the family has shared or what Odalie has been told — the aim is that when she doesn't know, she asks rather than guesses. She's designed to respond to spoken requests to stop, change the subject or forget something. Like any AI system, Odalie can make mistakes — that's why the family can see what has been added and make changes. See how the companion works in detail.
Who it serves
Odalie is for older parents and grandparents — and for the families who worry about them and miss them. There is no writing for your parent to keep up with, and nothing for them to learn: they simply talk.
Odalie is a companionship service. It is not a medical device, does not provide care or treatment, and is not an emergency or monitoring service.
Where we are now
Odalie is a working prototype, built and run from London. The next step is a planned free six-week UK pilot with a first group of 20 older adults, and we are currently inviting first families in England and Scotland.
